HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday met the chairman, vice-chairman and members of the Central Municipal Council at the Emiri Diwan.
The meeting was attended by HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani.
At the meeting, the council members thanked HH the Emir for his continuous support to the council, which plays a major role in voicing the citizens’ comments and issues from different electoral districts, assuring that it will continue to do its utmost to serve the community.
HH the Emir said that the council plays a major role in representing the Qatari society from all around the state, highlighting its importance in the urban, civil, and demographic development. The Emir reaffirmed the importance of co-operating with all officials and taking the citizens’ opinions into consideration to ensure Qatar’s development and guarantee the maintenance of the identity, representation of the citizens and fairness of the elections.
The Emir wished the council members success in their mission.
