Grenadian Prime Minister Keith Mitchell met HE Dr Hamad bin Abdulaziz al-Kuwari, adviser at the Emiri Diwan and Qatar’s candidate for the post of director general of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (Unesco) as part of his plans to visit several countries.
Al-Kuwairi presented his electoral programme under the theme “Towards a New Start for Unesco” and  his vision for the development of the organisation.
Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago Keith Rowley also met the Qatari candidate in the capital, Port of Spain, where he explained his vision for the position.
The prime minister expressed his admiration for Qatar and his eagerness to develop the bilateral relations between both nations in investment, tourism and education and expressed his interest to know more about Qatar’s development.
He also reaffirmed the support of the Caribbean countries to the Qatari candidate stressing that al-Kuwari is eligible for the position due to his expertise.
The meeting was attended by Trinidad and Tobago’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Dennis Moses.
