Doha: Seven players and one club director accused of misconduct have been fined and suspended from football-related activities for several weeks by the Qatar Football Association’s disciplinary committee.
The disciplinary committee issued suspensions and fines for their misconduct during the 15th round of Qatar Stars League.
The only non-player who faced action is Salah al-Mulla, Director of football for Al Arabi, over bad behaviour at a match against Al Jaish. He is barred from being on the sidelines of games or in the locker room for two months and has been fined QR30,000.
The remaining seven were all players. Al Jaish’s Romario Ricardo was suspended for two matches and fined QR30,000 for unsportsmanlike conduct. His teammate Sanad al-Nuaimi was suspended for three weeks and fined a similar amount for using foul language with the assistant referee.
Another Al Jaish player, Mohammed Ahmed al-Jabri, was suspended for two matches and fined QR10,000 also for foul language.
The second match that propelled the committee to take action was the one between Al Rayyan and Umm Salal. The committee decided to suspend Umm Salal’s Mahmoud al-Mawas for three matches and fined him QR30,000. His teammate Yannick Sagbo was also suspended.
As for Al Rayyan’s players, Victor Caceres was suspended four matches and fined QR50,000. Abdul Kareem Salem al-Ali was suspended for the same amount of matches, but fined QR40,000.
