The prices of vegetables, fruits and fish at the Central Market dropped during December 2016, according to a monthly report issued by the Ministry of Economy and Commerce.
The report showed that the prices of vegetables dropped by 15% last month compared to the same period the previous year. However, the prices of vegetables had gone up last month by almost 4% when compared with November.
Prices of fruits dropped in December 2016 by 11% when compared with the same period the previous year, and dropped 9% when compared with those of November last year.
Also, fish prices fell 9% in December 2016 compared to December 2015 and dropped by 8% compared to November.
For meat and livestock fodder, there were no considerable changes for almost all types and the prices remained stable.
