The closure, which will come into effect on Friday, will enable the construction of a critical interchange on the New Orbital Highway and Truck Route project.
During the diversion, road users travelling south on Shamal Road from Al Ruwais and want to go to Lusail via the Temporary Truck Route will need to take an earlier exit towards Salwa Road. They have to take a U-turn at the first roundabout and head east towards Lusail (as shown on the map).
Motorists travelling north on Shamal Road from Doha and want to go to Salwa Road via the Temporary Truck Route will need to take an earlier exit towards Lusail, before taking a U-turn at the first roundabout and head west towards Salwa Road.
Ashghal has reduced the speed limit to 80kph on the northern and southern sides of Al Mazrooah Interchange for a distance of 500m.
