The first lunar eclipse will be a "penumbral lunar eclipse", during which the moon will darken slightly but not completely. It will be visible throughout most of the eastern South America, Eastern Canada, Europe, Africa and Western Asia, including Qatar.
The second lunar eclipse will be a "partial lunar eclipse". A part of the moon will darken as it moves through the earth's shadow. It will be visible throughout most of the eastern Africa, Central Asia, the Indian Ocean and Australia. This partial eclipse will be seen from Qatar.
The first Solar eclipse will be on February 26. The "Annual Solar Eclipse", occurs when the moon is too far away from the earth to completely cover the sun. This results in a ring of light around the darkened moon. The path of eclipse will begin at the Coast of Chile and pass through southern Chile and southern Argentina, across the southern Atlantic Ocean and later into Angola and Congo in Africa.
A partial eclipse will be visible throughout parts of southern South America and southwestern Africa.
The second Solar eclipse, on August 21, will be a "Total Solar Eclipse, " when the moon completely blocks the sun. The path of totality will begin in the Pacific Ocean and through the centre of the US. A partial eclipse will be visible in most of North America and parts of northern South America.
