NAMA Center, a member of Qatar Foundation for Social Work, has successfully concluded its 2016 Qatar National Day (QND) participation at Darb Al Saai, which drew a huge crowd of spectators, participants, and wannabe volunteers for a good cause.
NAMA’s participation in this year’s Darb Al Saai QND celebrations came in the context of bolstering values of loyalty, pride and patriotism and emphasising the Center’s support of the country’s past achievements and its future aspirations.
In her remarks on the success of the Center’s QND celebrations, Mariam bint Abdullatif al-Mannai, director, Community Services Department, and director in charge of running NAMA’s affairs, said: “Even though at NAMA, we believe that participating in the Qatar National Day celebrations is our duty as an active player in the country’s social and economic development, it is also a joy to share the community in celebrating the country’s achievements and reviving the legacy of our founding fathers and the values that have been instrumental in orchestrating the rise of an outstanding community that has carved the name of Qatar in every domain, discipline and area all over the world.”
She added: “This year, NAMA’s festive events and community-centred activities at Darb Al Saai were an incredible success. As well as showcasing the fruits of our labour and demonstrating the tangible difference that NAMA makes through its youth empowerment initiatives and its support of young entrepreneurs in the country, our participation built on our past successes and caught the attention of even more forward-looking youngsters, who were enthusiastic about being a part of our community-development activities and using the services and programmes of NAMA centre as leverage for their own personal success and creating a positive impact on their sphere of influence. We would like to direct our sincerest thanks to the Organising Committee of the National Day celebrations, who announced a campaign for the collection of donations to support the Syrian people, following the decision of the Qatari government to dedicate the activities of the Qatar National Day to support and provide relief to the affected civilians in Aleppo.”
