Movie stars entertained about five thousand people at “Nepali Bhojpuri Mega Night” organised recently. The event was organised by Doha Waves in association with Jeevika. 
The big names who performed at the event included superstar Rajesh Hamal, Nepali star Aryan Sigdel, and pop singer Smrithi Pokharel. The Bhojpuri stars at the event were Kesari Lal Yadav, Bhojpuri actress Kajol Raghuwani, Madhu Sharma, Seema Singh, Nisha Dubey, Kallu Arbindra, Poonam Dubey, Ritu Singh, Shivika Diwan and Priyanka Maharaj.
The programme started with Nepali pop singer Smriti Pokhrel performing two songs. This was her second performance in Qatar in two months. A singer, songwriter, musician and model, Pokhrel was given the Hits FM Best Female Pop Vocal Award in 2012, and has further proved her talent as a playback singer in many movies. 
Bhojpuri starlet Kajal Raghwani performed three dances on Bhojpuri and Hindi songs. This was her third performance in Qatar and is one of the most sought after Bhojpuri actresses. 
Bhojpuri superstar Khesari Lal Yadav performed a dance and a song. Performing for the third time in Qatar, Yadav said he was equally popular among Nepali and Bhojpuri audiences. He is popular for his imitation of a traditional North Indian girl. His breakthrough came with the album Maal Bhetai Mela Me.
Nepali star Aaryan Sigdel performed two dances. In one, Non-Resident Nepali Dancing Star 2013 Yasoda Basnet supported Sigdel. 
Sigdel is a familiar name among the Nepali community, as he stayed more than a month in Qatar for the premier of his movie Kollywood. Sigdel made his debut with Mero Euta Sathi Chha (I have a Friend) in 2009. The film was highly influenced by Korean hit A Millionaire’s First Love. In 2010, he starred in three films, including hits like First Love and The Flashback. 
Nepali film industry superstar Rajesh Hamal came on stage to roaring applause. He re-enacted some popular lines from his famous films and praised the Nepali community as culture-loving folks. “Nepalis in Qatar love music and movies,” he said, adding that the Nepali film industry is looking for the warm support of Qatar-based Nepali community. “The 400,000 Nepalis in Qatar comprise around 25 percent of our audience; if we could expand our market in Qatar, our industry will flourish.” 
Hamal has bagged many awards during the course of his acting career, spanning from 1988 and has contributed to many charity programmes. Hamal is currently a Goodwill Ambassador for the Building Back Right Initiative to promote safe, environment friendly, and child labour free reconstruction after April 25 Earthquake.
Bhojpuri actress Madhu Sharma performed two dances. Though performing for the first time, Sharma said she felt the place familiar and admirable.
Actress Seema Singh performed dances on catchy and upbeat songs from Bhojpuri and Hindi movies. Also a model and 
TV presenter, Singh is one of the highest-paid celebrities in the Bhojpuri film industry. 
Bhojpuri singer and actress Nisha Dubey performed two songs for the very first time in Qatar. Dubey stormed into Bhojpuri movie scene with the film Dildaar Sajna.
Another artist, Poonam Dubey performed two dances. Dubey acts in Bhojpuri, Hindi, Gujarati and Tamil films in India. 
Ritu Singh, Priyanka Maharaj and Shivika Diwan also performed two dances each. Bhojpuri singer and actor Kallu Arbindra supported all three actresses in their performances. 
People came from all over Qatar to watch the show.
