Al-Haqbani has written a book “In spite of pain, Hope remains,”which narrates her fight against cancer. The book is featured at the Doha International Book Fair-2016 and a book signing ceremony was held recently. Dr Sheikh Khalid bin Jabor al-Thani, chairman of QCS along with several QCS officials, took part in the book signing ceremony. QCS has also plans to re-print the book and the proceeds will be donated for the benefit of cancer patients.
Sheikh Khalid said that he was happy to come across such bright models who provide hope for all cancer patients around the world. It also confirms the fact that cancer does not necessarily mean death, an idea which has been firmly rooted in the minds of many people for long period.
Al-Haqbani, at the event, narrated her story and the fight with the disease. She highlighted how she managed to overcome it with patience and determination as the detection of the disease was a shock to her and her family who supported her all through the period and helped her overcome the difficult phase.

Qatar Cancer Society (QCS) has signed in Sharifa al-Haqbani, a child survivor of cancer as its honorary ambassador.
