Aspire Zone Foundation (AZF) will organise a series of community activities for families who will be watching Qatar’s Strongest Man competition on Friday. In a statement, AZF said they will set up fan zones designed to accommodate spectators attending the prestigious competition at Aspire Park’s car park opposite Outdoor Pitch 10.
“We want to encourage community participation in sporting events and promote healthy lifestyles through these activities and fan zones,” said AZF events manager Abdullah al-Khater, citing a huge surge in the number of spectators since its inception. “Our goal is to continually improve the quality and variety of events we offer to the community.”
The two-day community activities, which will run on Friday and Saturday, feature various sports activities, games, and performances, as well as a number of attractions and outlets for food and souvenir items.
Friday’s lineup includes You.fo performances, a game in which an aerodynamic ring is thrown using a specially designed sword-like staff over distances of 10m to 30m. This activity will take place from 3pm to 7pm in the fan zone area.
In addition, sports activities for children will be held from 3pm to 9pm around the fan zones, with stalls offering snacks, healthy drinks and souvenir items open from 2.30pm to 9pm. On Saturday, You.fo training sessions will be held from 3pm to 4pm near the fan zone area.
Children’s sports events will take place from 5pm to 7pm with the food and souvenir booths open from 2.30pm to 9pm.
Now in its fourth edition, Qatar’s Strongest Man competition has been designed to be the ultimate test of strength and endurance during where participants compete face-to-face in a number of challenges.
The competition is scheduled to take place at Aspire Park from 3pm to 8pm on Friday. Entry is free.
