The Advisory (Shura) Council yesterday held its weekly regular session within its 45th Ordinary Session under the chairmanship of its speaker, HE Mohamed bin Mubarak al-Khulaifi.
The session was attended by HE the Minister of Finance, Ali Sherif al-Emadi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, Khalaf bin Ahmed al-Mannai and a number of senior officials of the Ministry.
A memorandum by the Cabinet on referring all key chapters and sectors of the state’s public budget for the fiscal year 2017 as well as the attached draft law to the Advisory Council was read.
In his speech during the meeting, the Speaker of the Advisory Council expressed sincere thanks and gratitude to HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani for his directives and for the attention paid to all sectors.
This comes within the framework of HH the Emir’s keenness to raise and promote the homeland while protecting the interests of citizens and working to achieve their aspirations and meet their ambitions for a better future of Qatar, HE al-Khulaifi said.
The Minister of Finance then explained the government’s point of view on the state’s draft budget.
The Advisory Council then discussed the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee’s report on the State’s draft Public Budget for the Fiscal Year 2017 as well as the draft law to adopt it.
It decided to submit its recommendations to the Cabinet.
