Qatari students are the country’s human and knowledge capital and its real wealth, HE the Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Mohamed bin Abdul Wahed Ali al-Hammadi has said. 
Qatari students have a responsibility to accomplish the goals and objectives of the Qatar National Vision 2030, and to achieve of its development scheme, Dr al-Hammadi said.
This makes it imperative for them to realise the aspirations of the  leadership, through gaining knowledge, participating in serving their country and achieving its sustainable development, he added.
In this context, the Minister pointed to the speech of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani before the opening of the 45th session of the advisory council, in which His Highness said “Qatar deserves better from its people”. 
This came during the open meeting the Minister held here with the Qatari students studying in American and Canadian universities.
The meeting, which was attended by Cultural Attache’ at the Qatari embassy in Washington, aimed to assess the conditions and academic affairs of the students, and to discuss all their problems solve them by appropriate means.
During his speech at meeting, the Minister reviewed the important points of the HH the Emir’s speech before the Advisory Council, because it “represents a road map for the next phase”. He pointed out that the call of ‘Qatar Deserves Better from Its People’ is addressed to all Qataris - students, officials, employees or parents.
The Minister urged the students to diversify the disciplines of study to fulfil the requirements of the labour market and to benefit from the opportunities and academic options provided by the State through the scholarship programmes run by the Ministry of education and Higher Education.
On the occasion, the Minister answered the students’ questions and inquiries, and gave directions to ease all the difficulties they meet in their lives and their studies.
The Minister of Education and Higher Education is currently on a two-day visit to the US, to be followed by a one-day visit to Canada.
