Qatar Airways has officially launched the digital membership card for its Privilege Club members.
With this, the airline is providing Privilege Club members with a “more convenient option” to redeem Qmiles when travelling across its global network, according to a statement.
Available to all Privilege Club membership tiers – Burgundy, Silver, Gold and Platinum – the new digital membership card provides travellers with the same level of service as the physical card using their smartphones or tablets.
Members can continue earning and redeeming Qmiles on products and services, priority check-in, extra baggage allowance, special discounts at Qatar Duty Free (QDF), accessing Qatar Airways’ lounges and using partner airline services, award fee waivers for Gold and Platinum members, Flexi Awards and online
redemption discounts.
Travellers can now present their membership card on a smartphone or tablet via the Qatar Airways App, mobile website, Apple Wallet, e-mail or as a saved image on a portable device. The digital membership card will now supersede the physical card for all new Burgundy Privilege Club members and their nominated family members, providing them with immediate access to the many benefits of the Privilege Club programme, the statement explains.
Qatar Airways vice-president of CRM and Loyalty, Dr Ian Di Tullio, said: “I’m thrilled to introduce our new digital membership card, providing the most accessible service for our Privilege Club members as they travel. Travellers can start earning and redeeming instantly when booking and travelling with Qatar Airways.”
Privilege Club members can take advantage of a number of digital services available to them, including the Qatar Airways App, allowing travellers to book flights, check in, manage their accounts and enjoy benefits and offers from the convenience of a smartphone, tablet or desktop – anywhere in the world.
Qatar Airways Privilege Club members earn Qmiles and Qpoints every time they fly with Qatar Airways or oneworld partner airlines. Qpoints allow members to move up the membership tiers and “unlock even greater” privileges, while Qmiles are reward miles that can be redeemed on flights to almost 1,000 destinations served by Qatar Airways, the oneworld alliance and airline partners. Qmiles can also be redeemed for award flights, upgrades, excess baggage, pay for shopping at QDF and more.
