QC signs partnership pact with Almaha Medical

Qatar Charity (QC) has signed a partnership agreement with Almaha Medical Company to improve health conditions and prevent diseases through health education and training projects, as well as providing medical care to the poor and patients of chronic disease, as well as those with special needs inside and outside Qatar.
QC executive director for operations management Faisal Rashid Alfahidh and Almaha Medical general director Dr Mohamed bin Hamad al-Naimi signed the agreement at the QC headquarters.
By signing the agreement, QC said it aims to address the “significant shortage” of medical staff in poor countries by preparing a comprehensive scientific plan to train a large number of nurses, paramedics, and midwives to fill the gap in the health sector.
The first main area of the agreement is to promote the humanitarian mission of QC to improve health levels and prevent diseases by focusing on educational health projects, providing healthcare to needy people and people with chronic disease inside and outside Qatar, as well as organising medical campaigns locally and internationally.
The second provision is providing medical aids that help fill the “severe shortage” of medical staff in poor countries and combating the most widespread and deadly diseases.
The third and last main area of the agreement is establishing a healthy platform to monitor the needs of people in all QC areas of intervention. The agreement also stipulates that Almaha Medical and its relationships with governments and ministries of health are at the disposal of QC.
Alfahidh said; “QC seeks to develop its performance and improve its services for the benefit of humanity and therefore had made this agreement.”
He said the importance of the agreement lies in the joint organisation of medical campaigns locally and internationally to reduce the spread of infectious diseases and epidemics, the mortality rate among children and pregnant women, and provide basic health services such as health centres, hospital, and clinics, among others.
Al-Naimi said: “We have a very strong relationship with QC built on consultation, co-operation, and co-ordination.”
He also pointed out that a delegation from Almaha Medical and QC made field visits to Emel Hospital at Al-Rehaniya. He added: “The agreement embodies a true partnership between the two parties.”
