Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi yesterday met with HE the Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani who is on a visit to Tunisia.
At the outset of the meeting, the Foreign Minister conveyed the greetings of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani who wished the president and the people of Tunisia further progress and prosperity.
For his part, the Tunisian president asked the Foreign Minister to convey his greetings and wishes of further progress to  the Emir and the Qatari people.
The meeting reviewed bilateral relations and ways to enhance them. A number of issues of joint interest were also discussed.
The Foreign Minister stressed in a statement after the meeting Qatar’s keenness to take part in an international conference to support the Tunisian economy, scheduled to be held on November 29 and 30.
He said that Qatar was committed to supporting developmental projects in Tunisia.
The Foreign Minister also expressed Qatar’s appreciation to Tunisia’s role in stabilising the region.
HE Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani later held talks with Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs Khemaies Jhinaoui.
They discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance them as well as advancing the scope for co-operation.
They also discussed a number of issues of joint interest.
