Qatar Red Crescent Society’s (QRCS) has provided emergency shelter for the Syrian refugees whose tents were damaged by the recent bad weather. In the Lebanese town of Arsal, tents were toppled by winds and rainfall.
In a press release, QRCS said it immediately secured some shelter structures as a source of warmth for the Syrian refugees and their children in the face of frost.
Arsal is a mountainous town located 2,000 metres above sea level, and it is known for too low temperatures in the winter.
To avoid the impact of blizzards on Syrian refugees living in Arsal, QRCS is contacting local, regional, and international organisations to create a joint rapid emergency intervention team, which can provide instant help for Arsal refugees in case of floods and snowstorms.
