Ooredoo has announced that it will be the official telecommunications partner for Milipol Qatar 2016, and use the event as a platform to promote “superior cyber-security” for government ministries, businesses, and organisations across the country.
Online security is emerging as one of the most important issues for national defence strategy, particularly in areas such as critical infrastructure protection, Ooredoo said.
According to a number of cyber security reports, Qatar has one of the highest numbers of hacking and malware infection attacks in the Middle East, driven in particular by attempts to target company employees with infected emails that gather information about networks and
customer accounts.
As the national carrier, Ooredoo said it has long provided highly-secure network and connectivity solutions for organisations in Qatar, even up to military-grade standards. Today, the company is leveraging its technological expertise and network of international partners to position itself as the leading “ICT innovation engine,” with particular focus on cyber-security
solutions.
At Milipol Qatar 2016, Ooredoo will promote its Managed Security Services solutions, powered by Si Consult, which offers a comprehensive range of monitoring, security and managed malware protection services, to demonstrate its
leadership in this area.
