The Academic Bridge Programme, a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, has been re-accredited for 10 years by the Commission on English Language Programme Accreditation (CEA).
The re-accreditation is valid until August 2026. It was in March this year that a three-member accreditation team from CEA visited the ABP to observe classes, conduct interviews, review policies and procedures, and inspect documents to ascertain the degree to which the ABP meets the international standards established by CEA.
“For students, faculty, and staff members, this accreditation represents the validation of our Academic Bridge Programme as an exemplary model of English language programmes throughout the world,” said Dr Bryan Lewallen, director, ABP.
“It also reflects the ABP’s commitment to continuous improvement and desire to offer the highest quality of education to the young women and men of Qatar.”
Moza A al-Boainain, ABP’s assistant director, Student Services, observed that the re-accreditation for 10 years sends a positive message to parents, teachers, universities, and governments and encourages more students to apply to the ABP.
It was in 2011 that ABP received its first five-year accreditation from CEA. In 2014,  ABP began the process of re-accreditation with CEA. As a part of that process, internal committees were formed to ensure that student achievement, the ABP’s mission, curriculum, programme of studies, faculty, finances, student services, recruitment practices, professional development, and facilities met the international standards established by CEA.
