The upgraded version of the Kia Cerato sedan has been introduced in the local market by Al Attiya Motors and Trading Co (AMTC), the exclusive distributor of Kia Motors in Qatar.
As a refreshed version, the 2017 model year edition is a stylistic improvement of the third-generation Cerato, according to a press statement. “Not surprisingly, the refreshed Cerato is the latest creation from the desk of Peter Schreyer, Kia’s legendary chief design officer, which shows the importance of the car in the company’s goals globally. Coincidentally, the Cerato has been Kia Qatar’s best-selling model for the past few years,” the statement noted.
Among the notable changes is its “refined styling” that retains the European sporty-sedan design. The refreshed Cerato “builds on the sportiness of the earlier model” by tweaks on its front and rear bumper, front and rear combination lamps and even its rim designs. When entering, customers can experience a “more elegant and convenient interior, leading to a more pleasing drive.”
“We are pleased with subtle yet effective upgrades that the refreshed 2017 Cerato sedan comes with. We encourage interested customers to experience and try the car first-hand via a test drive in our showroom as it will be worth their time and effort as they look for their ideal sedan car purchase,” said Hossam Abu Shadi, AMTC’s automotive director. Among the visual enhancements for the Cerato are a new front bumper and “tiger nose” grille that has been extended to connect with newly-designed headlights, which are available with Xenon HID lights.
This new take on the front fascia gives the Cerato a “sophisticated personality and one that further enhances the innovative and sporty trend”. Completing the exterior redesign are restructured tail-lights, with optional LEDs.
All models now get electric folding mirrors as standard. Top-option trims come with sunroof, LED daytime running lamps for increased visibility on roads and front fog lamps.
The interior design is identical apart from some new piano black trim around the fascia and Kia has updated some of the materials to make the cabin feel more upmarket. The dashboard plastic and door panel trim feel a bit softer to the touch and the gear lever has been revised to match the premium additions.
Kia Motors Qatar has welcomed potential customers to its main showroom on Al Rayyan Road (opposite Hamad hospital). Customers are also encouraged to book a test drive.
