The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) is set to develop Rawadat Al Khail Garden (formerly known as Muntazah Park) into a facility of international standards.  Mohamed Ali al-Khouri, director, MME department of public parks, told local Arabic daily Al-Sharq that there is a tender for this project and it has seen considerable progress in the preparation phase. The official pointed out that around 80 new parks have been created with 38 of them in Doha, 22 in Al Rayyan and Al Sheehaniya, six at Al Wakrah, five at Daayan and Umm Salal, six at Al Khor and Al Thakhira, and five at Al Shamal. There also a number of other parks that have been renovated and equipped with sports and recreation facilities at various places around the country.
