Rasheeda Interchange on North Road, including the bridge and whole ramps, will remain closed to traffic, for two months from Tuesday. (September 27).

The closure is required to facilitate the revamp of Rasheeda Interchange along with the access routes to the newly constructed service roads along Al Shamal Road.

During the traffic diversion, Rasheeda Interchange users will instead be diverted to the Umm Leshkhoot Interchange, accessing the newly-constructed service roads between the two interchanges (as illustrated on the map).

The upgrade of Rasheeda Interchange comes as part of the North Corridor Enhancement Project, which includes the construction of service roads along the North Road, starting from Al Duhail Interchange, on the northern Doha to Al Shamal city.

The project, designed to enhance the connection with the new development projects near the highway, comprises the construction of two new interchanges in Izghawa and Umm Salal Mohammed areas, in addition to other improvements to three existing interchanges, including Al Sakahma Interchange and Al Kaaban Interchange.

Al Khor Road will also be upgraded with a link road provided between the North Road and Umm Birkah Road, as well. A cycle path will be constructed along the North Road.
