Doha: Stallions Cricket Academy concluded a very successful tour of England in August. The 60 strong tour group, comprising of a mixture of players, coaches, and parents, who embarked on the second tour of the UK played over 15 matches in Leeds and London.
Stallions took two teams to UK – Under-14 and Under-11. Competing strongly against teams from UK, Qatar’s youngsters performed very well. The Doha Stallions under-14 Team also won the six-a-side tournament played in London competing against four other London based teams.
As part of the tour the officials of the Stallions Cricket Academy incorporated a visit to the home of cricket, Lords, in order to build enthusiasm and awareness towards the history, traditions, and culture associated with the game.
 The Lords visit included a well-planned, individual indoor coaching session where players used the latest Hawk Eye technology, to develop their personal style and talent. This is the first time young players have been exposed to technology of this calibre. Qatar’s youthful players were also mentored by professional coaches from the MCC Cricket Academy.

Commenting on the tour Head Coach of Stallions, Sidath Tennakoon said: “We are delighted that the Stallions Cricket Academy has been successful in touring UK for the second time. The touring team has been practising for the past few months and we are extremely happy with the individual and team performances of the children.”
Stallions Sports Services is the leading sports academy in Doha, currently providing coaching in Cricket, Basketball and Badminton for juniors from the age of 6 to 18 years through a well-qualified and experienced team of coaches.
The academy has already completed two Cricket tours to England, Sri Lanka and UAE during the past two years and planning to tour Australia, South Africa, India, Malaysia and Singapore in future. The academy in Qatar was launched with the purpose of developing the game of cricket in Qatar, and to provide opportunities to aspiring young cricketers to have the opportunity to learn from ICC qualified coaches. Stallions recently opened branches in Singapore and Dubai.  
The new cricket season for Stallion’s has already started at their fully equipped practice locations at Sherborne School and Pakshama School.
