Total, in collaboration with Al Wakra Hospital, organised a private visit to the children’s wing of the hospital to share the joy and festivities of Eid with the kids.
Led by some members of the hospital’s public relations department and nursing teams, Total’s employees visited the children, gave them their wishes and presented them with gifts.
They also brought along two popular mascots to cheer the children, who were equally excited to see them. The children are aged two to 14 years old.
“This visit really means a lot to us; something as simple as a visit to the hospital can make a real impact on the life of the children, and it teaches us at the same time. We really enjoyed being around the children and spending time with them. They also seemed to have had a great time, which helped them take their minds off things for some time,” said Christophe Eon, Total’s deputy vice-president – HR, Communications & CSR.
Abdulla Mohsen, Total’s head of Government Liaison & Employee Relations, was also a part of the visiting team. “It’s great to see the children’s’ strong spirit. They may be fighting illnesses, but seeing them smile and play reminded us that no matter how tough they are, they are still children.  As they may not be able to go home to celebrate Eid this year, it gave us the joy of bringing these celebrations to them where they were,” he said.
At the end of the visit, Mohamed al-Dosari, acting Public Relations manager, presented Total with a memento in appreciation of the partnership between the two entities. Eon received the memento on Total’s behalf.
Total also expressed its appreciation to the management and staff of Al Wakra Hospital for giving it the opportunity to visit the hospital and for the high level of professionalism.
Total’s employees also stressed that the “children are fighters and an inspiration to them”.
