Al Mana Group of companies has announced the launch of a “new and exclusive” luxury cinema concept – FLIK Cinemas.
FLIK Cinemas will open at Doha’s Lagoona Mall in September, making it the first dedicated Platinum and Gold Class theatre multiplex in the GCC region, according to a press statement.
Two further multiplexes will follow at Mirqab Mall and Doha Mall, providing an additional 16 screens, within the next 12 months, the company has said.
“FLIK Cinemas at Lagoona Mall will deliver an unprecedented cinematic experience in opulent surroundings, where modern technology meets the classic art of filmmaking. By combining innovative technology with outstanding service, FLIK Cinemas will create a unique, world-class cinema experience, superior to any current offering,” the statement noted.
The Platinum and Gold Class multiplex will offer four screens and a total of 172 seats, pairing custom-designed genuine leather reclining seats with tables and cup coolers. To complement the experience, guests can choose from a “carefully designed menu by Fauchon Paris, offering a wide variety of elegant cuisine” to be ordered from and delivered to the client’s seat in the Platinum theatre.
A personalised service waiter is available at the touch of a button via a personal iPad. Food and beverage ordered will be delivered on a tray service, and blankets and pillows are also available.
“FLIK is the first cinema in Qatar to use the world-leading combined cinema technologies of Christie Digital Projection & Vive Sound, the award-winning cinema solution that exceeds all expectations and represents acoustic and projection engineering at its very finest,” the company added.
The FLIK concept will expand in the near future to Mirqab Mall on Al Nasr Street, with 1,000 seats spread over eight theatres, and to Doha Mall in Abu Hamour, with 1,400 seats spread over eight theatres, including the wide-screen FlikMax concept.
