She had a dream debut with Yash Raj Films’ Mohabbatein, but post that her acting career went on from doing second leads to item songs. Actress Shamita Shetty feels that she has not really been given a chance to explore her talent in that field.
Shamita credits her stint at dance reality show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa for reintroducing her to the entertainment industry. When asked to compare between acting and dancing, she told reporters: “Dancing is my passion of course and so is acting. I think, I am not really been given a chance to explore acting that much unfortunately, but I hope to do that in new future.”
The sister of Shilpa Shetty also added that dancing makes her really happy. She says that she has not signed anything interesting yet, but she looks forward to do “something nice” on the small screen post Big Boss and Jhalak Dikhla Jaa.
“I think Jhalak ... kind of reintroduced me back to the entertainment industry. Right now, I am busy with lots of events in terms of dancing but I have not signed any new projects.
“However, I am looking at doing some interesting work on TV as I am getting some offers there. I am looking for something different there,” she said. So any more reality shows in future?
“I think for now I am done with reality shows to be very honest. Fiction is something that I am looking at but not the typical saas bahu (type). I can’t relate to that zone. But I think TV is experimenting with a lot of new stuff so I am hoping for something new and nice to come through,” she told IANS.
The Zeher actress was attending the second day of the ongoing Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) Winter/Festive 2016 where she flaunted a bridal collection made by designer Divya Reddy as part of her preview show.
Ask her what she prefers to wear in her day to day life, she said: “I wear whatever I am comfortable in. I am most uncomfortable in saris but when you end up wearing saris, I think any woman looks so beautiful. I just wish I could handle it better. I prefer nets because they are light and stays. Silk tends to open up at least on my body.” — IANS

Thrilled to become a grandpa: Boman Irani

Actor Boman Irani is enjoying being a grandfather, and says instead of feeling old he “feels young at heart”. The actor, who is the brand ambassador for Ambi Pur India, shared the news of becoming grandfather via Twitter after his son Danesh and daughter-in-law Reah welcomed their first child last month.
“A lot of people ask me ‘how does it feel to be a grand-dad’. I don’t know what to say ... What am I supposed to say that ‘I am feeling a little older’, ‘my beard has gone longer’ or do I have to sound wiser or have to stop being naughty or being my jovial self,” Boman told IANS over phone from Mumbai.
He added: “In fact it has been the other way around. I feel so thrilled to be a grand-dad. I feel young at heart — that is what is important to me.”
The actor might be busy urging people to take a ‘Smelfie Challenge’ to rid their homes of odour, but he makes sure he takes out time to spend with the baby named Ziaan.
The 3 Idiots star feels that the baby has brought in a “lot of energy in his life”. “I am having the time of my life. He is a delight and has brought a lot of energy into my life ... I just sit and stare into his face and he stares back at me. We have a great bond. It is a fantastic feeling that I can’t begin to describe,” he said. — IANS
