An official of LuLu Exchange Company has received the “Global Businessman” award during the seventh edition of the Brand Icons Awards presented by The Times Group on Friday at the Taj Vivanta in Thiruvananthapuram, India.
Managing director Adeeb Ahamed was honoured in recognition of his contribution towards the growth of business across various sectors around the world. Ahamed is a multifaceted professional who also spearheads several other organisations, including Twenty14 Holdings and Tablez Food Company.
The Brand Icons Awards recognises key icons and organisations that achieve outstanding results that have set them apart as leaders in their own spheres.
Minister of Finance of the Government of Kerala, TM Thomas Isaac, graced the occasion as the guest of honour and presented the Brand Icon Awards.
After establishing LuLu Financial Group as a reputed global foreign exchange and money remittance enterprise with more than 130 branches across the globe within seven years, Ahamed went on to setup the food and beverage venture, Tablez Food Company, which currently has more than 30 outlets, both homegrown and franchised, across India and the UAE.
He is also the managing director of Twenty14 Holdings, which owns properties around the world, including the Great Scotland Yard in London, Steigenberger Hotel Business Bay in Dubai, and Fairfield by Marriott in Kochi, among others.
“It is indeed a great honour to be recognised among the top icons in the field of business. The award will help me reaffirm my commitment towards setting up new benchmarks in the sectors I am involved with. I would also like to congratulate my fellow awardees who have carved a niche of their own in their fields of expertise,” Ahamed said.

The other noted luminaries honoured during the ceremony included Firoz Meeran, managing director, Eastern Condiments; B Govindan, chairman, Bhima Jewellers; Professor NI Abraham, managing director, NFC Finance; and TS Pattabhiraman, chairman and managing director, Kalyan Silks, among others.
