The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has announced that it will put in place, in co-ordination with the Traffic Police, a temporary diversion on part of the southbound lanes of East Industrial Road from tomorrow.
The diversion will cover a distance of 2.7km from Street 23 (near Al Watan Petrol Station) to Street 10 (near Woqod Petrol Station). It will continue until the end of September.
During this period, traffic on the closed section of East Industrial Road will be diverted to the adjacent service roads, where the number of lanes will be reduced from four to two for traffic (see map).
The speed limit will be reduced to 50kmph along the diversion route to ensure the safety of road users and the project’s workforce.
Ashghal has said it will install road signs advising motorists of the diversion. The authority has also requested all road users to abide by the speed limit and follow the road signs to ensure their safety.
