The Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MEC) issued 1,888 commercial registrations for new companies last month.
These included 1,064 primary registrations and 824 sub-registrations, according to a statement.
Around 63% of the new firms have limited liability, 21% are one-person companies and 16% are individual organisations.
Contracting companies (390) accounted for the bulk of the new registrations, followed by firms involved in the building materials trade (162) and eateries, fast food outlets and vegetable/fruit shops (121).
The MEC also modified and renewed 6,088 commercial registrations in June.
Meanwhile, there were 195 cases of closed companies and cancelled registrations, with 33% of these being contracting firms and 23% building materials trading companies.
The number of new patent applications in June amounted to 63 while another 105 cases were renewed. Registered trademarks amounted to 2,617 in the same period.
