Scorching conditions will continue in the country on Saturday while strong winds are expected in some places by midday, the Met department has said.
Southwesterly winds blowing at 4-10 knots are expected in the early hours, followed by northwesterly-northeasterly winds with a speed of 10-20 knots. This may go up to 25 knots in some areas by midday, according to the weather report.
The forecast for inshore areas is “very hot” during the day with slight dust and some clouds.
While there are no warnings for offshore areas, hazy conditions and some clouds are likely in these places.
The highest temperature in the country on Friday was 47C, which was recorded in Sheehaniyah, Batna and Turayna, followed by 46C in Jumayliyah and Karanah. In the capital, the mercury level reached a high of 45C in the Qatar University area.
On Saturday, the maximum temperature will be 46C in Doha and 45C in Abu Samra, Messaied and Wakrah, according to the weather report.
