The Public Works Authority, Ashghal, will implement a closure for six months from Friday on two sections of Al Muthaf Street in the Old Slata area.
Each is about 30m long and on one lane in each direction, near the Old Slata intersection. The closure until end of December this year is in co-ordination with the Traffic Police Department.
During this period, the second lane of Al Muthaf Street will remain open to traffic in both directions, as shown in the map.
This closure is required to facilitate the implementation of construction works of the deep shafts as well as microtunneling works for the sewer lines in the area.
Ashghal will install road signs to advise motorists of the diversion.
The authority requests all road users to abide by the speed limits, and follow the road signs to ensure their safety.
