One person was dead and more than 150 houses were flooded in eastern Nepal as two days of heavy rainfall battered the region, government officials said yesterday.
Several rivers overflowed in the eastern region of Nepal, with Sunsari, Jhapa, and Morang districts among the worst affected.
One person was reported dead in Sunsari and another was missing.
Flood warnings were issued in some villages downstream.
Heavy rains were expected to continue for two more days.
Hundreds die in flooding and landslides in Nepal every year, brought on by monsoon, which lasts from June to September.
