The 27th meeting of the GCC drug pricing committee started in Doha on Monday.
The four-day meeting is being hosted by the Ministry of Public Health (MPH).
Addressing the opening session, Dr Aisha Ibrahim al-Ansari, director of the Pharmacy and Drug Control Department, MPH, said that the committee has considerably succeeded in unifying medicine prices in GCC countries.
This would benefit consumers who would get drugs at reasonable and competitive prices.
The meeting will discuss various related issues including a mechanism to fix prices for drugs that contain vitamins and minerals and other varieties of medicines.
