A 27-year-old man shot dead two people and injured 11 others at a concert in Austria before turning his weapon on himself, police reported Sunday.

The man had had a row with his girlfriend in the town of Nenzing in the state of Vorarlberg during the night, they said.

After the row he fetched a gun from his car around 3 am (0100 GMT) and started shooting indiscriminately at the 150 people attending the concert, which had been organized by a motorcycle club.

The girlfriend was uninjured in the attack, police said.

Police said the weapon was a rifle, but they did not know exactly how many shots the man had fired.

‘The exact course of events is unclear,’ a police spokeswoman said.

Authorities did not immediately have information on the condition of the injured.

‘The gravity of the injuries is very varied,’ the spokeswoman said.

The wounded were taken to hospitals in the region to be treated.
