Katara Hospitality announced the official opening of Hotel Park, a new public, “family-friendly” park situated in the heart of Doha’s business district.

The park, located adjacent to Sheraton Grand Doha Resort & Convention Hotel, is characterised by water features such as mini-fountains, waterfalls and small streams as well as sprawling, well-manicured lawns.

“Planned as an illustration of Katara Hospitality’s commitment to social responsibility and the importance of promoting sustainability, Hotel Park is poised to well serve Doha’s residents while showcasing an impeccable natural landscape for visitors to enjoy,” Katara Hospitality said in a statement.

Situated in the backdrop of West Bay’s modern architecture, Hotel Park is set to provide residents and visitors with “a relaxing escape to enjoy picnics, play areas and outdoor family gatherings”. “Children’s play areas, an outdoor fan area, a fitness zone and a video wall will round off Hotel Park’s casual relaxation amenities, well positioning this public space as a destination of choice. Hotel Park will soon have five food & beverage outlets offering a diverse palette of authentic cuisine and desserts,” the statement noted.

To add to the garden and restaurant offering, Hotel Park will carry four levels of underground parking with access to Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre through an underground tunnel link. The facility comes with a parking allotment of over 2,500 spaces.

“At Katara Hospitality, one of our core values is to continuously give back to our community while promoting sustainability through our initiatives. Offering a natural relaxing landscape destination for family enjoyment is one way through which we aim to show our continued appreciation of the valued residents of our community,” said Hamad Abdulla al-Mulla, CEO of Katara Hospitality.

Hotel Park will be managed by Mosanada, a Qatar-based facilities management company. The underground parking will be managed by QDPV, a joint services company that specialises in the design and operation of car parks and parking facilities.

As an incentive for park visitors to familiarise themselves with Hotel Park’s offering, Katara Hospitality offered visitors a month-long complimentary parking access to the park.
