HE the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani met here yesterday the Special Envoy of the United Nations to Libya, Martin Kobler, during his visit along with his accompanying delegation to Qatar.
Talks dealt with the situation in Libya, particularly the outcomes of the Second Libyan Reconciliation Conference held in Doha.
The Foreign Minister stressed Qatar’s support for political agreement, welcoming the start of the Presidential Council from the Libyan capital Tripoli.
The two sides also discussed the situation in Benghazi and in particular the deteriorating humanitarian crisis, stressing the need for concerted efforts to reconstruct the Libyan city.
The Foreign Minister renewed Qatar’s support for all international efforts aimed at achieving a comprehensive national reconciliation for the stability and prosperity of Libya.
