Qatar Today has announced the second edition of the Qatar Today Business Excellence Awards (QTBEA), which will be held at Marsa Malaz Kempinski, The Pearl - Doha on May 30.
The event, being held under the auspices of Qatar Stock Exchange and with the continued support of Maserati Qatar, will identify and felicitate top-performing companies on the bourse in 2015. Qatar Today will also honour prominent companies and individuals who have done the nation proud by excelling in the fields of business and economy, aligning their company’s goals to Qatar National Vision 2030.
“We are back this year with a new and improved formula to determine the top 10 companies, more partners and a bigger venue. We are honoured to introduce our partners, without whom an event of this ambition and magnitude won’t be possible,” said Sindhu Nair, managing editor of Oryx Publishing and Advertising, which brings out Qatar Today every month.
The Qatar Today Business Excellence Awards have Maserati on deck once again as the main sponsor. To have the backing of a business conglomerate like the Alfardan Group “is reaffirming”, a statement noted.
Charly Dagher, general manager of Alfardan Sports Motors — Maserati Qatar, said: “Maserati Qatar is pleased to be the official sponsor of the second edition of the QTBEA ceremony.
The awards are a unique platform that recognises the entrepreneurship spirit of Qatari business leaders, who have helped drive the economy forward.”
Qatar Today has again enlisted the help of validation partners Deloitte & Touche, who have vetted the formulae and parameters in creating the ranking.
The ranking is based on performance and utilises key financial metrics and ratios. Weights assigned to financial metrics comprise share price growth (20%), dividend yield (20%), liquidity (20%), return on equity (15%), revenue growth (10%) and net margin (15%), according to Deloitte & Touche Qatar representatives, head of financial advisory services Robin Butteriss and assistant director Saumya Krishna.
Also supporting the awards is Gulf Bridge International (GBI), a Qatari investment that has become a global connectivity provider. Abdulla al-Rwaili, executive vice-chairman and managing director of GBI, said: “We are glad to support the Qatar Today Business Excellence Awards, which recognise the thriving corporate landscape in Qatar.”
Another partner is Amigoz, whose green business ventures align with Qatar Today’s ideals and initiatives. “We want to thank the publication for giving us the opportunity to be part of QTBEA as support sponsors,” said Ahamed Nabeel, partner and general manager at Amigoz.
