Dear Sir,

Every leader has his own style of functioning and communicating with his party cadres and officials working for the government machinery. But what is most important is the leader’s ability to connect with the common man.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is known to be tech-savvy, is setting a trend by establishing a direct link with the common man.
Prime Minister Modi’s office is so pro-active that it even sends birthday greetings to everyone who has interacted with its web portal. People who have done so get a greeting card signed by Modi through e-mail, to their surprise and joy. My wife is one such person to receive the PM’s greetings on her birthday on April 30.
This speaks highly of Modi’s ability to make use of the technology to keep in touch with people.
Gulf Times recently (April 24) reported that Modi was expected to visit Qatar in June. Quoting Indian press reports, Gulf Times said that Modi was planning separate trips to Iran and Qatar in May and June respectively.
The Indian expatriates here are eagerly looking forward to his scheduled visit to Qatar.

Good days and bad days
Dear Sir,
This is in reference to the article, “How to make your day better” (Gulf Times, May 1). Life is a mixture of good and bad days. One can’t avoid bad days altogether as many things happening around us and to us are beyond our control. But it is up to us how we react to them. And the way we respond to them can make a big difference to our feelings.
We should learn from our bad days. Lessons learned from that will teach us to cope with similar situations better in future.
Our reaction to things happening around us should always be positive. Negative approaches will not bring any comfort and solve our problems.
