Al Rayyan striker Sergio Garcia has been announced as the QSL player of the month for April. The player received the award yesterday Al Rayyan’s training ground.   
The former Spanish international has been on fine scoring form this month, scoring three goals in the league, including a fine brace in the Qatari Clasico against Al Sadd. Crucially the Spanish attacker also registered two assists for his team-mates which helped him win the coveted award.
Statistics from Prozone, The QSL’s statistical partner show how Garcia led the way in the month of April. Firstly the striker’s sprinted longer more than many of his peers, on average he clocked up 376m of sprinting per match, significantly higher than the QSL average of 295m for a striker.
Whilst Garcia’s high intensity running aided the striker in April. He clocked up an impressive average of 1172m per match of high intensity running, a figure that dwarfs the QSL average of 990m for a player in his position.
Garcia grabbed a crucial brace in April and his goals typified his hard action, all action style which deservedly makes him the player of the month for April. His goals against bitter rivals Al Sadd gave Al Rayyan an early lead, before being pegged back at the last minute.
 The first goal showed Garcia’s poaching instincts finishing off a well worked free-kick routine with a smart tap in. Whilst his second goal bared hallmarks of the first strike apart from this time the Spaniard flicked the ball into the net at the near post.  
So from high intensity sprinting, crucial goals and  assists meant that Sergio Garcia of Al Rayyan was the stand out player for April and picked up his first ever QSL player of the month award.

Yousuf Adam is coach of the month
Al Ahli’s head coach Yousuf Adam has been awarded the coach of the month award for April. The Qatari tactician is expected to pick up his award at Al Ahli’s training ground on this evening. This is the second time that a QSL head coach has picked up the award, following his success last month.
The Brigadier’s have put in impressive performances during the month of April picking up wins against Meisameer, Lekhwiya and Al Rayyan.  These wins stretched the Brigadeers winning streak to five games in the QSL, and pushed them to a sixth placed finish.  
In front of goal, Al Ahli scored ten times in just three QSL games; Thanks to statistics from Prozone, QSL’s statistical partner show that Ahli created an average of 14 chances per game. Central to this was the fitness of Ahli who scored late goals against Lekhiwya and Al Rayyan to register impressive come behind victories.
Ahli are set to compete in the Emir competition against El Jaish, and with this recent run of good form Yusef Adam will be confident his side can perform well in the competition.
