The number of vehicles registered in Qatar in January fell 15% month-on-month to 8,767, the Ministry of Development Planning & Statistics has said in a report.
In December last year, the number of vehicles registered in Qatar stood at 10,317, MDPS said in its latest ‘Qatar Monthly Statistics’ bulletin.
In terms of traffic violations, the report showed that these have fallen 8.5% month-on-month to 130,548 in January.
MDPS said the number of properties sold in Qatar stood at 283 in January, which was 23.3% down month-on-month.
In terms of plot transaction, the number of such deals transacted stood at 101 in January, down 50.7% month-on-month, MDPS said.
“This had a direct impact on the total number of properties sold during January,” the ministry said.
The value of properties sold amounted to QR3.98bn in January compared with QR3.61bn in December.
Qatar’s population, MDPS said reached 2.42mn in January, up 8.3% year-on-year. In January last year, Qatar’s population stood at 2.23mn.
The number of births registered in Qatar in January was 2,030 while the number of deaths was 209 during the same month.
At the Hamad International Airport, the number of “arriving passengers” in January stood at 1.56mn, up 7.7% month-on-month. This includes transit passengers.
The number of visitors to Qatar in January totalled 169,311, MDPS said.
Total broad money supply (M2) recorded about QR505bn in January, which shows a monthly decrease of 3.2%, the bulletin showed.
