HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, HH the Deputy Emir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani and HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani yesterday sent cables of congratulations to Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom on the occasion of the anniversary of her accession to the throne.
HH the Emir, HH the Deputy Emir and HE the Prime Minister also sent cables of congratulations to the Governor-General of New Zealand Sir Jerry Mateparae on the occasion of his country’s National Day.
Training programme for commercial arbitrators
The second phase of a training programme to equip commercial arbitrators for professional certification will begin today at the Qatar Chamber headquarters.
It will be held under the theme, “the procedures and management of arbitration cases”, over four days, addressing a number of theoretical and practical issues.
The training programme is conducted by Qatar International Centre for Conciliation and Arbitration in co-operation with the GCC Commercial Arbitration Centre.
The course aims to prepare a new generation of Qatari and GCC arbitrators who can deal with commercial disputes outside the courts and help settle them accordingly.
This will also ease the load on courts and speed up the resolution of related cases, which will eventually reflect positively on business transactions in the country and region.
