The Hollywood-based International Presentation of Performers (IPOP) has selected two Qatar-based Nepalese children for its January 2016 contest. IPOP holds performance competitions — singing, dancing, acting and modelling — twice a year at its venue in Los Angeles, California, US.
Sibilings14-year-old Rabina Pokharel and 9-year-old Pukar Pokharel, both studying in Cambridge International School, will participate in the upcoming season of IPOP. They were selected from among 500 contestants in the Qatar auditions that were chaired by CEO Yoron Patterson and manager Mark Gunarbi in June.
Rabina studies in ninth grade and Pukar in fourth grade, and have been in Qatar for three years now. Nabin Pokharel, their father, is a successful entrepreneur and Rama Aryal, mother, is a successful singer.
The siblings will be competing against artists from seven countries, including the Philippines, Jordon, Lebanon and India.
Rabina regularly performs at cultural programmes in Qatar, and says she wants to make her country proud. Pukar puts his sister as a source of his inspiration and wants to do better than her. Both have been selected in the acting category.
