The Made in China Exhibition is set to be inaugurated tomorrow at Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre by HE the Minister of Energy and Industry Dr Mohamed bin Saleh al-Sada.
The three-day exhibition, organised by Qatar Chamber (QC), will see the participation of over 100 major Chinese companies representing various sectors.
The exhibition will be held over an area of 15,000sqm. It will provide an opportunity for the participants to display a variety of high-quality products that meet the infrastructure, construction and technology requirements of the region, according to a statement.
Saleh al-Sharqi, QC acting general manager, stressed the importance of the event as an “excellent platform to enhance trade co-operation and business transactions with various Chinese companies”.


Winners of Qur’an memorisation contest announced
The organising committee of  the Sheikh Jassim bin Mohamed bin Thani Holy Qur’an contest has announced the winners (men and women) of the Qur’an memorisation contest in the following categories:  5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 parts of the Holy Qur’an.
A total of 366 contestants, including 88 males and 278 females, took part in the various categories of the contest.
The  organising committee said the names of the winners in the category of full memorisation of  the Holy Qur’an will be announced at the closing ceremony on Tuesday.
The  Sheikh Jassim bin Mohamed bin Thani Holy Qur’an contest was held from November 21 until Dec. 6.
The winners will be awarded cash prizes. The first place will be given QR100,000 while the second, third, fourth and fifth places will be awarded with QR85,000, QR70,000, QR60,000, QR50,000..

Two men held for stealing cash

The Criminal Investigation Department, in co-ordination with the Capital Security Department and Airport Security, has arrested two Westerners who had stolen a large sum of money from a woman from the car parking area of a major shopping mall, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said in a post on its Facebook page yesterday. While one of the two accused was caught with the stolen amount immediately, the other person was arrested at Hamad International Airport while attempting to leave the country.

Independence Day greetings

FM attends Rome conference
HE the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah has  participated in the Rome Conference for Dialogue of the Mediterranean, which concluded yesterday. The conference was also attended by HE the Assistant Foreign Minister for  International Co-operation Affairs  Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani.
