Doha’s Villaggio Mall witnessed an evacuation of hundreds of shoppers and employees of businesses around 2pm yesterday following a fire alarm. People had to wait outside for over 10 minutes. They were allowed to go back inside once the alarm was found to be false, sources said. The fire alarm and the evacuation evoked memories of the tragedy that befell Villaggio on May 28, 2012, when 19 people were killed in a blaze. PICTURE: Nasser al-Saadi.
