HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani arrived in Quito yesterday on a one-day official visit to Ecuador.
HH the Emir and the delegation accompanying him were greeted upon arrival at Quito’s international airport by Ecuadorian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Integration Ricardo Patino, Qatar’s acting ambassador to Ecuador, Fahad Hamad al-Aeda al-Merri, and Ecuador’s ambassador to Qatar, Qublan Abi Saab.
HH the Emir was accompanied during the visit by HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor al-Thani and a high-ranking official delegation.
Soon after his arrival, HH the Emir and Ecuador President Rafael Correa held a round of official talks. The talks were attended by HE Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim and other members of the delegation accompanying HH the Emir. Senior Ecuadorian ministers and officials also took part.
Ecuador was the last stop of HH the Emir’s three-nation Latin American tour. He visited Peru and Colombia before coming to Ecuador. Pages 2, 24
