Abdulrahman Ali starred with 26 points as Al Sadd thrashed al Wakrah 86-59 in the Qatar Basketball League last evening.
Al Wakrah managed to take a 6-0 lead in the first five minutes but that proved a false dawn as Al Sadd soon pulled clear, never to look back.
Of Abdulrahman’s 26 points, 18 came from three-pointers as he nailed six long rangers off the 11 chances he got.
Suliman Abdi with 17 and Daoud Mousa with 16 also excelled for Al Sadd who led 66-48 at the end of the third quarter, turning the final 10 minutes into a formality.
For Al Wakrah Adamu Saaka top scored with 15 points while Souleye Ndour and Deandre Dorsey had 14 each.
In the second match of the day, Gharafa defeated Al Shamal 80-63, with Nedim Muslic top-scoring with 23, 15 of them coming in three-pointers. Kamal Hachad excelled foe Shamal with 20.
