British boxer Amir Khan visited the Museum of Islamic Arts and Katara Cultural Village on the sidelines of the AIBA World Boxing Championships yesterday. “Doha just keeps getting better and better, I really love it here. Everything is so beautiful, and it’s such a warm and hospitable place,” Khan said yesterday. “I’m obviously here for the World Boxing Championships as a guest of the Qatar Boxing Federation and AIBA, but thankfully I’ve found time to visit a few sites like the Museum of Islamic arts. As a Muslim it was great to see all the ancient artefacts, and the whole experience was simply incredible. It’s really nice to see what Qatar has done to preserve Islamic culture.”
