El Jaish head coach Sabri Lamouchi said his team is looking forward to a good start in the Qatar Stars League as they begin their campaign against Al Ahli today. “We are waiting eagerly for the match to kick-off after a long preparation period and many friendly games. All the players are ready to gain their first three points,” Lamouchi said.
He stressed that Al Ahli is a very good team and were a very tough opponents during the previous season. “It is true that they lost the Congolese striker but this is good for us.”
Commenting on the changes to his team’s offensive line, he said: “Both Abdel Razaq Hamdallah and Rashidov are distinguished players and are gelling quickly with the rest of the team.”
On El Jaish ability to win the league title this season, he said: “El Jaish is a newly established team compared to other teams but we are developing from season to season and in my capacity as the team’s coach I would like to see us win it.”
“Compared to Al Sadd, Lekhwiya and Al Rayyan, these are big names with huge potential and experience.
“They are more than qualified to win the league title, however El Jaish and Al Gharafa also have the right to compete for the title, which urges me to confess that the league is going to be tough and exciting this season.”
Meanwhile, Al Ahli Sports Club’s coach Zalatco said that El Jaish is one of the better teams in the league and are capable of competing for the title, but added that his side were not afraid of them. “We are waiting for the first match to kick-off after such a long and intense preparation period as well as the successful signings whether local or foreign,” Zalatco said.
Answering a question regarding the changes to his team especially after the departure of Dioko, he said, “There is no doubt that the departure of Dioko is a big deal but we were successful in signing another prominent striker in Mobili, he will demonstrate with team what a good player he is, I am sure.”
