In a one-sided encounter, Hanan defeated Engineering Supplies by 55 runs to lift the 21st Gulf Incon Metabo Floodlit Trophy 2015.
Hanan elected to bat after winning the toss and posted 148 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 12 overs.
Shakeel and Rauf were the lead-scorers for the team with 24 runs each. While Shakeel’s eight-ball knock included two sixes and two fours, Rauf’s 10-ball stint included three sixes and a boundary.
Parvez added 18 runs (two sixes) while Lithin was unbeaten at 16 (a six, a four).
For Engineering Supplies, Sudeesh, Mujeeb Jr, Mufiyas, Tom and Anthony took a wicket each.
In reply, Engineeering Supplies lost wickets regularly to some fine bowling and fielding by Hanan and only managed 93 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their 12 overs. Namsheed was outstanding in his 23-ball 40 (four sixes, a four) but it wasn’t enough to earn a victory for his team.
Hisham took 2 wickets while Khader, Rauf, Parvez, Rahil and Shakeel took a wicket each for the eventual winners.
Present at the prize distribution ceremony were Gulf Incon general manager Srinivasan Vaidyanathan, Metabo Middle East business development manager Prateek Yadav, Metabo’s senior sales manager Sajjad Ahmed Khan and Metabo field specialist Tuan Afaham Burah.
Hanan’s Rauf was adjudged Man of the Finals.
Shaji of Engineering Supplies was adjudged Best Batsman of the Tournament. Qalco’s Aftab and Ifzal were given the Best Bowler and Best Wicketkeeper awards respectively, while Hanan’s Aswar was handed over the Best All-rounder award.
Prizes were also given to the winners of a quiz competition which was organised during the tournament. Over 300 prizes were given away to various players during the prize distribution ceremony, which also saw a lucky draw for the spectators.
