Oschersleben (Germany): The son of record Formula One world champion Michael Schumacher won his first race in Formula Four yesterday.
Mick Schumacher, 16, triumphed in the third race of the season which began this weekend having benefited from a safety car period at the end of the 30-minute contest. Joey Mawson, Schumacher’s teammate from the Van Amersfoort team, finished second.
On Saturday, Schumacher had finished ninth to record the best finish of any race debutants in the season-opener and claimed 12th in the first race yesterday.
The Formula Four series has 24 races over eight weekends.
Michael Schumacher won seven world titles in his illustrious F1 career. He is recovering from serious head injuries he sustained in a skiing accident in France in December 2013.
