El Jaish trounced Al Khor 74-51 at the Qatar Cup basketball tournament being played at Al Gharafa Sports Club. It was dominating show by El Jaish, who led throughout the match.
Larell Taggart scored 25 points for the winners, with Leon Macklin and Badra Ndoye contributing 15 and 13 points respectively. For Al Khor, Kardell Bridgewaters waged a lone battle scoring 20 points, with Anthony Coleman adding 11. Jaish scored 12 points from turnovers, while Al Khor could only manage nine.
In another match, hosts Al Gharafa beat Al Shamal 84 -77. Deangelo Downey and Monroe Samuel Jr. combined to fire Al Gharafa to victory with both in fine form. Samuel top-scored with 27 points, while Downey was not far off with 22 points. Osaro Adako also contributed 18 points.
For Al Shamal, Anthony White scored 26 points, followed by Kamal Hachad, who pocketed 22.
In today’s matches, Al Arabi will take on Al Wakrah at 5pm , followed by Al Rayyan versus Al Ahli.
